Episode 11: Stanley Hotel
On episode 11 of Legend, Samm and Amy cover the Stanley Hotel!
When a prominent automobile maker ends up with tuberculosis in the 1900s he seeks “treatment” in a small town in the Rocky Mountains called Estes Park. Miraculously, he is actually cured of tuberculosis using the methods of the time! He fell in love with Estes Park and decided to build the now infamous Stanley Hotel with the intended purpose of curing others of tuberculosis and making Estes Park more of a tourist destination. Not even he, however, would guess the level of fame and fear this hotel would garnish. Thanks to the iconic Steven King staying for inspiration and a whirlwind of paranormal activity, the Stanley has dominated almost all “Most Haunted Places” lists. Have you ever wanted to meet a friendly deceased cowboy or hear the beautiful notes of a piano played by a phantom? The Stanley will deliver this and much much more.
