Ep 64: Project Blue Book

On the 64th episode of Legend, Samm and Amy discuss the history of Project Blue Book. In the 1940s, UFO sightings were being reported so frequently that the government set up not one, not two, but three projects as a way to investigate the claims of UFOs. Project Sign was too pro UFOs, so after it’s short life, Project Grudge was formed. Project Grudge was more of a debunking campaign though and some higher government officials weren’t pleased with it so was nixed. Then we end up with Project Blue Book, headed by the level headed- not too pro and not too con- Edward J. Ruppelt (who coined the term UFO) who hired on astronomer J. Allen Hynek (the man who created the list of different types of Close Encounters). Together, with their team, they investigated many UFO reports. Listen in as Samm and Amy discuss the many ups and downs, and the cause for conspiracies, around Project Blue Book.

Don Julian Santana Barrera claimed to have witnessed a small girl drown in the canal that surrounds the island and depending on which version you hear, it’s either to appease the little girl’s spirit, protect the little girl from demons in the after life, or honor her. Listen in to the 62nd episode of Legend as Samm and Amy discuss possible theories as to why Don Julian ended up amassing over 1,000 dolls on this island before his tragic and somewhat mysterious death in 2001.
